IGP Adamu thumbs up operation Doo-akpor as officer receives promotion to the rank of Inspector

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has expressed satisfaction with the men and officers attached to the Bayelsa State  special security outfit, Operation Doo-Akpor, in the effective and efficient discharge of their statutory responsibility to maintain law and order in the state.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretsry to Governor Seriake Dickson, Mr Fidelis Soriwei, quotes the IGP as having made the remark, Friday, in Government House, Yenagoa  during the decoration of Sergeant Binang James who has just been promoted to the new rank of Inspector of Police.

The police boss who was represented by the Commander of the outfit, Assistant Commisoner of Police, Idowu Asufi said he was impressed with the sterling performance of Binang James, dsscribing him as an officer with impeccable qualities that made the promotion a deserving reward for his hardwork.

While noting that promotion comes from God, the IGP said the promotion was a stepping stone to higher assignments in the Force, and called on the newly promoted Inspector not to rest on his oars, but redouble efforts to ensure that his diligence, hard work and reliability continued to impact the quality of operations in the security outfit.

Also speaking at the event, the Special Adviser 2  to  Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, Retired Commisioner of Police, Agberebi Akpoebi remarked that promotion in the Nigerian Police Force as well as in the public service,  has continued to be a major factor that motivates officers for optimal productivity.

He described Inspector Binang James as a committed officer whose loyalty and dedication to duty has earned him the rank of Inspector.

He, however, charged him to sustain the tempo in his new role and to ensure that he continued to be a good example to both his superiors and subordinates who would be expecting more from him.

In his speech, Special Adviser to Governor Dickson, Boma Spero Jack, described the newly promoted officer as very humble, hardworking and result oriented.

He called on Insector James to be more focused in the discharge of his duties as the promotion comes with additional responsibilities which would task his resourcefulness and innovativeness.

He observed that the fact that Binang James has been promoted was a sure pointer that hard work never failed and called on other men and officers of the Force to have it settled in their minds that so long as they remained committed, dedicated and loyal to the calling, their promotion was inevitable.

Responding, Inspector Binang James thanked the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adam u, the Commander of the Operation Do-Akpor, ACP Idowu Asufi and the Bayelsa State Police Commissioner, Mr Uche Anozia, for finding him worthy of being elevated to the rank of Inspector.

He said he was dedicating his new rank to God in view of the role God has played in preserving his life and protecting him all through his years in the force.

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State  was represented by Superintendent of Police Bashiru Maisule.
