Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, otherwise called Davido, has cleared the air about asking fans to donate money to him.
Davido was a guest on CNN’S Exchange programme. Contrary to wide held belief, Davido said he only asked his friends and those who he has worked with in the past to give him money for his birthday.

Speaking to Zain Asher from Ghana, Davido expressed surprised at the turnout of individuals who gave him money for his birthday.
Said he, “I never said donate money to me, I said ‘if you’re my friend give me money’.”
The singer said the whole initiative started as a joke, with even ordinary fans participating.
