I live with IPOB members; they’re not terrorists, says Peter Obi

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party’s (LP) in the forth-coming 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, believes the tag of the now proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization by the Federal Government was without basis and foundation.

The former Governor of Anambra State said this during interview on Channels Television.

Mr. Obi maintained that members of the group, who live close to him, did not pose a threat to the nation.

In the words of Peter Obi, “The only thing I disagree with is naming IPOB terrorist; they are not terrorists. Those who took the decision may have information that I don’t have.

“I stay in Onitsha, and I can tell you that they are people. I pass them on the road every day.

“I meet and live with them; in fact, I usually see people gathering, and I have never had the sense of threat or molestation from them, even when they gather,” he said.

Mr. Obi were emphatic that IPOB members were not terrorists.
