How Sanwo-Olu kills opposition in Lagos – Group

A pan-Lagos pro-democracy group, Egbe Omoluabi Eko (Egbe), has celebrated Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for having ‘silently killed’ opposition political parties in the state.

The group also said that the funeral of the opposition Parties in the state would be  organised eventually in 2023 after the governorship election must have come and gone.

Convener and Leader of the group, Ogbeni  Ibrahim Ekundina, who made the observation in a statement Wednesday in Ikorodu expressed a big surprise that, “Snwo-Olu, who the opposition underrated in 2019 because of his gentle mien and unassuming disposition has sprung a surprise that has sent the opposition parties back to the drawing board.”

According to Ekundina, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s performance has been the type that is all inclusive so much that even the opposition has been clapping for the way he has been spreading the dividends of democracy to the door steps of every household without discrimination, enthusing that, “the opposition, due to their non-existence presently would have no other choice than to vote Sanwo-Olu and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) next year.”

The statement further expressed the delights that the good people of Lagos State, who are very much appreciative of the governor’s superlative achievement across all the sectors of the economy and would thus want to show appreciation for the good gestures by voting him again overwhelmingly in 2023 and make the election a mere formality,” adding that, interestingly, the highly enlightened and sophisticated citizen of the state are the type of people that cannot be cajoled by any group of jesters and comedians to lose their votes by casting them for non-starters.

“All the pre-election indices from researchers and unbiased analysts are pointing towards the direction that the coming 2023 electoral victory is a foregone conclusion for Sanwo-Olu,” Ekundina disposed in the statement, adding that, “as things stand now, there is no shaking for Sanwo-Olu and the APC in Lagos State as far as governorship and presidential elections are concerned.

“Lagos State, an evolving Mega City and one of the three top economies in Africa, is not to be volunteered into the hands of political toddlers to use as a Trial and Error experiment.

“So, Sanwo-Olu who has been building on the solid foundation laid by his predecessors like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (1999-2003), and Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), 2003-2007, should better be allowed to continue the satisfactory job he has been doing since 2019 beyond 2023,” the statement concluded, urging the people and residents of the state to keep supporting the governor to guarantee more dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
