Housekeeper bags life sentence for defiling employer’s under-aged daughters

Bright Izuchukwu , a housekeeper, was on Tuesday sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court for defiling the two daughters of his employer, ages six and seven.

According to the state prosecution team, Mrs Olufunke Adegoke and Ms Abimbola Abolade, the convict committed the offence sometimes between 2017 and 2018 in Festac Lagos.

He was reported to unlawfully have had sexual intercourse with the two minors while their parents were not in the house, an offence punishable under  Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.

In convicting the convict, the judge relied on  six witnesses presented by the prosecution who testified against the convict,  as well as two exhibits.

Justice Abiola Soladoye, held that the prosecution had established the ingredients of the offence against the defendant.

“The defendant exhibited raw wickedness, taking turn to ravish the survivors and taking advantage of his employer’s kindness.

“He has left a trace of emotional trauma on the survivors. He must be locked away for life. The defendant exhibited arrogance and nonchalance throughout the trial and lied his way through the trial showing that he is a pathological liar,” the judge held.

The court ordered that the convict should have his name entered into the register of sexual offenders of Lagos state.

The Nigerian Xpress reported that A school bus driver, Tony Akpan was, on Monday, sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old pupil.

The convict was sentenced by Justice Abiola Soladoye of an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court.

According to the prosecution, the convicts committed the offence on Oct. 20, 2017, on Magodo Road, Isheri, Lagos.

The judge also sentenced one Itoro Wilson, a bus assistant to the convict, to two years imprisonment for assisting the convict to evade justice.

According to Justice Soladoye in her judgment, the prosecution proved beyond doubt the charge of sexual assault against Akpan and his accomplice.
