In a move to cut down the cost of governance, President Bola Tinubu has ordered Federal Ministers, Ministers of State, and Heads of Agencies to limit the cars in their official convoys to just three vehicles.
In a statement personally signed by the president, the move is targeted at streamlining government operations while reducing expenditures associated with official travels.
Tinubu also limited the number of security details the officials are allowed to have to five, comprised of four police officers and one officer from the Department of State Services (DSS).
He similarly reduced the Vice President’s entourage to five officials on foreign trips and 15 for local trips.
President Tinubu has also instructed the National Security Adviser to engage with the Military, Paramilitary, and Security Agencies to determine a suitable reduction in their vehicle and security personnel deployment.
The affected officials are expected to comply with the president’s new measures immediately.
The fresh guideline follows earlier measures by President Tinubu to cut government spending, which included reducing the size of his entourage for foreign trips from 50 to 20 officials and for local trips to 25 officials.
Yesterday, the President also scrapped the Ministries of Sports and Niger Delta while also sacking some ministers.
