The Lagos State Government has denied reports that some herdsmen attacked Odo Egiri community in Eredo area of Epe Local Council of the state.

The state’s Ministry of Agriculture said that the report has been investigated and found to be untrue.

The ministry explained in letter, signed by the Director, Legal Unit, Mrs. Bukola Akanni, on behalf of the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, that what transpired was a squabble between two rival families over a landed property which had nothing to do with herdsmen.

The letter partly reads, “After critical review of the facts of the case, the office (ministry) is of the view that the crux of the allegation and counter-allegation is rooted in land issues between the two parties.”
