Edo State Acting Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, says the health sector is a key agenda of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.
Shaibu said this while inaugurating the 2019 African Vaccination week, in Benin.
He said that the event was used to create awareness and educate the populace on the importance and role of immunization.
The director said that the state government would continue to engage in programmes that would enlighten Edo State citizens on the importance of children’s immunization.

He urged parents in rural and urban areas in the state to take advantage of this year’s vaccination campaign to know that immunization is safe and free.
He, however, called on parents to ensure that their children and wards complete the immunization schedule and keep their cards, saying that this would help to eradicate diseases from the environment.
Earlier, the representative of World Health Organization (WHO) in Edo State, Mrs. Faith Ireye, said the 2019 African Vaccination week had its theme as “Protected Together, Vaccines Work”.
Ireye said this would help to educate the people on the importance of immunization. (NAN)
