No fewer than 30 passengers in three different vehicles were on Wednesday abducted by gunmen at Garun Gabas in Rafi local government area of Niger State.
The gunmen, who reportedly barricaded the Zungeru-Garun Gabas highway, stopped the vehicles, an 18- seater bus and two others, before whisking away the passengers to an unknown destination.
Residents of the community told newsmen that the gunmen were shooting for over 30 minutes before they took away the passengers.
Spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who neither denied nor confirmed the report said that a statement would be issued on the incident.
