Group honours Kofi Annan, holds conference on national issues

In recognition of his contribution to humanity, the Negotiation and Conflict Management International (NCMG) will on Thursday, November 14 honour the late Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan, Abuja.

Kofi Annan will alongside Chief Justice of Singapore Justice Sundaresh Menon be honoured at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja at the 2019 NCMG Peace Awards for their immense contribution to the elevation of human rectitude.

According to the organizers of the event, the NCMG Special Recognition Award is a specialized award category which primarily honors individuals with a track record of exemplary leadership, selfless service and commitment to the overall improvement of humanity.

As part of activities for the day, a conference tagged Conference on Access to Justice and Peace Building.

The Justice Menon will speak at the conference on the theme: “Access to Justice, Peace building and the Place of Technology in Economic Growth: A Time for Change”.

The conference shall begin with a thorough review of the problems leading to the rising inequality towards justice over the past half-century; examine the different dimensions of the justice gap and the empowerment of various instruments to close each dimension of the gap. The Conference will also deliberate on the contribution of technology towards building the processes that address the unmet legal needs and the collective responsibility of everyone towards peace building in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
