Chief Convener of Concerned Imo Influencers, Amb. Theo Chibueze, has taken the Imo State Government under Governor Hope Uzodinma to the cleaners over the impassable condition of the roads across the state.
In a video now trending online, Chibueze lamented the harrowing experience of Imo residents due to the poor state of most roads even inside the Owerri metropolis.
Speaking in the video showing more of a river than road, Chibueze noted: “This is the state of our local roads in our dear state, Imo.
Yesterday, it took our campaign train hours from campaign office to Ogboshishi.
“One begins to wonder what the government is doing with the Internally Genersted Revenue, IGR, and federal allocations that run into billions of Naira.”
He added though that “the good news is that Imolites are eagerly waiting for a change, especially the traders who assured us of their votes,” and promised that the Labour Party candidate in the November 11, governorship election, Sen. Athan Achonu, is coming to turn things around for good.
Supporters of Uzodinma have been praising the governor for reconstructing roads in the state.
However, there are no signs of such roads, and even the ones pointed to have collapsed barely six months after or as the construction is ongoing, he noted.
The Mbaise Nation also circulated a video online, covering the main road that connects the entire area even up to the road leading to Aba Branch in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area. It is s shameful, the people say.
Chibueze urged Imo people to ‘shine their eyes’ well and vote wisely on November 11.
“A new Imo is possible,” he said. “If you desire a better deal for the state, vote for Achonu and the Labour Party.
“Imo State has had enough of briefcase politicians feeding fat on the suffering of the people. We need credible people with verifiable pedigree at the helm of affairs in Imo.
“We don’t need nonexistent jobs from United Nations or Canada. We don’t need fake investors from Qatar or catarrh. Somebody wants to build 150 industries in November? Haba! Only a fool will take such a person seriously.
“Don’t be deceived again. Ask them what industry they established in almost four years. They thrive on deceit, their trade from the beginning, but they have failed already this time.
“We have a proven investor, who has the ideas most of which he has translated into reality. His name is Athan Achonu. You cannot gloss over this opportunity or sell your future for a pittance. Don’t collect their evil money. Reject it and vote for your future and the survival of Imo,” Chibueze counseled.
Another member of the Concerned Imo Influencers reminded the people that December is around the corner and it is only by voting out the All Progressives Congress, APC, government will people feel free to return home for the Christmas festivities without fear of being killed.
According to him: “APC will further drive your family members away if they return; God forbid! The Lokpanta market killings in Abia is a reference case. The Labour Party government led by Dr. Alex Otti has stopped it. Achonu will perfect it in Imo and stop the carnage going on in the state under the APC government.
“Ihube, Okigwe, Orlu and all deserted places shall know peace. Those that ran away from the communities shall return. Even those in the bush shall return home because there shall be jobs for them.
“Unknown gunmen are men with blood too and shall respond and respect a good government when they see one. The Labour Party will guarantee peace and safety. Cast your vote for Achonu. A vote for him is a more for a new beginning,” he said.
