Gov’s wife’s death: Akwa Ibom PDP mourns, suspends LG election campaigns

 

 

The Peoples Democratic Party, Akwa Ibom State chapter has announced the suspension of local government election campaigns following the death of the wife of the governor, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.

The PDP Publicity Secretary,
Edwin Ebiese, in a statement announcing the campaign suspension, said, “This devastating news has left our party, and indeed the entire state, in a state of mourning.

“As we struggle to come to terms with this immense loss, we are compelled to pause our campaign activities as a mark of respect for the departed First Lady.

“We regret any inconvenience this suspension may cause and appreciate the understanding of our supporters and the general public during this difficult time”.

The party extended its condolences to the State Governor Pastor Umo Eno, his immediate family, the government and the people of the state while praying that granted the family of the deceased and the state the fortitude to bear the loss.
