Gov. Sanwo-Olu visits journalists attacked by hoodlums, sympathise with the injured

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, made a surprise visit to the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa to empathise with members of his press crew who were attacked on Sunday by hoodlums.

The attack occurred between Ebute-Ero and Adeniji, Iga-Iduganran, during APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s visit to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu.

Governor Sanwo-Olu  sympathized with the journalists and promised the government would take action. He charged them to take courage and not be deterred by what had happened in doing their job.

Sanwo-Olu told journalists that in such gatherings, there were bound to be traducers and that the event had successfully been concluded before they decided to attack.

The governor, through his Commissioner for Information and Strategy Mr Gbenga Omotoso, had ordered an investigation into the attack.

He also directed that those involved must be fished out and made to face the law, and promised the government will pick up the hospital bills of those injured in the incident.
