Gov. Sanwo-Olu gifts LASU’s best graduating student N10m

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday gifted Lagos State University, LASU, best graduating student, Olaniyi Olawale N10million.

 

 

 

Olawale had 4.98 CGPA from accounting department to emerge best student for 2022/2023 session.

 

 

 

He was given the money at the 27th convocation ceremony of the university at the main campus, along Lagos Badagry road.

 

 

 

Chairman, Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, GAC, Tajudeen Olusi and Chairman, Doyin Group, Samuel Adedoyin were also awarded honorary doctorate degrees for their contributions to the growth of the institution and Lagos State.

 

 

 

Other awardees were Professor Amidu Sanni and Professor Martins Anetekhal awarded Distinguished Prof. and Emeritus Prof. respectively.

 

 

Governor Sanwo-Olu urger the 11,195 graduates to remain diligent, act with integrity and hardworking, adding that their time at the university was not about academic alone but for them to engage in activities that would improve their network and net worth.

 

 

He noted that the university is dedicated to producing quality graduates and gave assurance that the government is committed to ‘unlocking their potentials.’

 

 

Sanwo-Olu said LASU have been rated Nigeria’s most advanced digital university and the best state university in West Africa and Nigeria.

 

 

 

The Chancellor, LASU, Gbolahan Elias,said the university is committed to providing academic excellence and thanked the governor for addressing infrastructure deficit in the university and improving the welfare of the staff.

 

 

The Vice Chancellor, LASU, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello said under her tenure, the university has sustained it’s ranking as the best university in West Africa and also appreciated the governor for his contribution to the growth of the university.
