There were strong indications, on Monday, that Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State would not sign into law the controversial Life Pension Bill passed by the state’s House of Assembly.
A source close to the governor said Dickson frowned at the provisions of the bill and had decided to withhold his assent.

The source said Governor Dickson had prepared a letter for transmission to the leadership of the House advancing reasons for withholding his assent.
It was also learnt report by a national daily (not the Nation) that the governor was prepared to sign the bill was misleading.
