Gov. Bindow urges Adamawa women to vote APC candidates

Governor Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa on Monday urged women in the State to vote only APC candidates in the coming general election.

Bindow made the call during a women empowerment programme organised by the Sudasa Charity Foundation in the state.

He expressed his administration’s readiness to partner with any organisation that has something suitable that could better the lives of women in the state.

“I want to thank you for your tremendous support to my administration and promise to carry women along in everything thing I do.

” I also want to commend women for turning out en masse at this event, and I’m calling on you to maintain the tempo by rallying round President Buhari and all other candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.

“This will enable us complement the good works we have started for the state and nation at large.”

The Governor commended the founder of the foundation, Hajia Ummih Alkali, for her foresight in establishing an organisation that had direct bearing on the lives of women in the state.

He promised to support the foundation in all ramifications to enable it realise its dream of bettering the lives of all mothers in the state.

Bindow also urged voters that are yet to collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to hurry up and collect them to be able to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming polls.

Earlier, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, APC Chairman in the state, said women had the largest votes in the nation.

Bilal called on them to make sure they returned the party to power in the 2019 general elections.

He announced the party’s donation of N300, 000 as support to the foundation.

Hajia Ummih Alkali, wife of Member representing Yola North Constituency in the State House of Assembly and founder of the foundation, said that 30,000 women had benefited from the foundation in different entrepreneurial skills in the state.

NAN reports that various items such as sewing machines, liquids for dyeing of clothes, among others, were presented to women. (NAN)
