The two younger accused, whose ages were given at the time as 23, are charged with planning the attack in late 2018.

They are said to have conducted tests with black powder taken from fireworks.

They intended to procure a firearm from the third accused, a friend of theirs, but the weapon offered turned out to be too expensive.

More recently, they considered using 10 kilograms of the high explosive TNT and a vehicle.

In preparation for the attack they took theory lessons at a driving school, according to prosecutors in Karlsruhe. (NAN)
