Fuel scarcity: Primate Ayodele calls for Buhari’s resignation

The head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to resign, as the Petroleum Minister, following his inability to stem the biting fuel scarcity that hit the country for several weeks now.

The cleric in a statement by his media aide surmised that the president lacked the capacity to handle that office.

According to Ayodele, Buhari should relinquish the position and instead appoint someone with sound knowledge of the workings of the petroleum industry.

“President Buhari should resign as minister of petroleum and hand over to someone who is capable of managing this crisis,” the cleric noted.

“This is not a thing to joke with. The economy is biting hard already; we need someone capable, Buhari isn’t capable to be the minister of petroleum. We need the right person who knows everything about our petroleum system.”

For several weeks running, Nigerians have been groaning under the weight of fuel scarcity, which began with the importation of toxic fuel into the country last month.

The Federal Government has so far failed to make good its promises to normalise fuel supply in the country.
