Four suspected cultists, who were allegedly involved in the killing of a police officer attached to the Ijanikin Police Division, in Lagos State, have been arrested.
The suspects, Akimwale Bamido, 23, Olanrewaju Bamido, 22, John Matthew, 21, and Adeniyi Moses, 23,had allegedly murdered the officer, Akinde Abiodun, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on November 27, 2018.
The deceased had, alongside his friends, visited a bar to have a good time, when the suspected cultists stormed the scene and shut him dead.
Efforts to arrests the suspects yielded a positive outcome when policemen at Ijanikin Division received a distress call on the activities of the suspects on March 19, 2019.

According to the Commissioner of Police in Lagos, CP Zubairu Muazu, who briefed journalists on the arrest of the suspects on Wednesday, the gang also specialised in robbing residents and motorists along Badagry -Mile 2 Road.
Muazu said, “ On March 19, 2019, at about 5:20pm, Ijanikin police Station received a distress call that some robbers were sighted around Ijanikin area robbing unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables such as phones and cash.
“Patrol teams from Ijanikin Police Station and SARS mowo mobilised to the scene. Four suspects were arrested. One locally made gun with seven live cartridges, weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp and criminal charms were recovered from the suspects.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to belong to the syndicate that recently killed the Admin Officer, Ijanikin Division ASP Akinde Abiosun.”
Muazu said the suspects will be charged to court for conspiracy, armed robbery and murder.
