An anti-insecurity outfit; The Grandview Initiatives Foundation (TGIF), has written letters to media houses across the nation introducing the outfit and seeking support for its planned activities against the security challenges facing the country presently.
The letters signed by its Founder/Convener and immediate past Post Master General of Nigeria, Barrister ‘Bisi Adegbuyi, the Foundation introduced itself as a non-profit but support giving foundation, declaring that, “one of our objectives is to leverage on existing and evolving technologies in solving myriads of problems buffeting our dear country Nigeria.”
Pursuant to the above stated objective, the letter read further, “we have developed and patented a state of the art, hyper-specific addressing solution with the brand name Digital Addressing System (DAS).”
The letter further explained that, “the benefits of the aforementioned solution are numerous that include but not limited to, 1, Enhancing security of lives and property, 2, Leveraging on technology to create employment for the teeming youths of Nigeria which, according to our demographic architecture, are in the majority, 3; Provision of access to credit for Micro Medium and Small Scale Enterprises (MMSEs), which as you know constitute the engine room of any country’s economy.”
According to the letter, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in one of its numerous bulletins, states that the future of governance all over the world rests squarely on the partnership between the public and the private sectors.
“It is in line with this philosophy that our foundation hopes to partner with both public and private sectors to engender socio-economic development of our country and the well-being of our people, especially the youths.
“As the immediate past Post Master General of Nigeria (PMG/CEO) of Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST), I am well placed, ready and willing to give back to society what it has pleased God to endow me with, coupled with various international and local trainings, seminars and workshops funded largely by the federal Government of Nigeria in my capacity as the Post Master General.
Concluding, the Convener declared that, “our belief in TGIF is that having disengaged from NIPOST, it is now time to contribute my quota to the socio-economic development of Nigeria using the foundation as a special purpose vehicle, believing it is also in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Media.”
Rounding off, Adegbuyi eagerly anticipated a favourable response from esteemed Media organisations, “well-known brands that we are willing to proudly and publicly associate with.”
