Federal Medical Centre long overdue in Okigwe – Sen. Ibezim

The lawmaker representing Imo North in the upper legislative House, Sen. Frank Chukwuma Ibezim, has stated that the area was long overdue to host a federal medical centre.

The distinguished senator stated this sequel to a bill for the establishment of a federal medical centre in Okigwe, headquarters of Imo North Senatorial District, which he introduced.

Ibezim noted that the bill, tagged: Federal Medical Centre Okigwe (Establishment) Bill 2023, which has got to the advanced stage of passage is very dear to him and would be of immense benefit to the people.

Speaking on the  Federal Medical Centre Okigwe (Establishment) Bill, 2023 (SB1100), Ibezim added: “We cannot overemphasise the importance of bringing the health facility in the place and l believe and always said it that, at least, every senatorial district should have a federal medical centre. We would do all we can to fast-track all the bills before we go for campaign and election.”

The lawmaker is leaving no stone unturned to see that the bill is eventually passed and signed into law before the end of the Month Senate.

He said with the passage of the bill, residents of Imo North  would have access to first-rate medical attention.

Ibezim’s concern for the health needs if his constituents also led to the medical outreaches he carried out across the constituency during which diverse sicknesses were diagnosed and treated.
