The current Queen Moremi Ajasoro (QMA) Cultural Pageant, Miss Adedamola Toluhi, has advised Nigerians to extend the Valentine love to the needy and less privileged.
She told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that love should be shared beyond couples and relationships as well as between young guys and ladies.
“These group of people need the most love they can get because they are quite neglected in this society; they should be the reason for the season.

Though we should show both families and friends love but most importantly, there are groups that need that love and care the most.
We should visit the orphans, old people, the sick, disabled and other less privileged in our society,” she said.
Toluhi suggested that the extras that would have been used for excessive partying and over celebrations should be channelled to the homes for the needy.
“Families should think of those children without homes, no parents, no families and visit them with gifts instead of wasting them on excessive parties.
There are groups around the areas that put up parties, they should also join in the clarion call of caring for the needy and less privileged in our country.
On this special day of love, I wish the youths, families and friends, a happy Valentine’s Day and appeal that they extend the love beyond themselves,” she told NAN.
The cultural queen also appealed to youths to extend this love to the forthcoming elections on February 16 and March 2 by being law abiding.
“We should all be careful within this election period because as Nigeria prepares to pick her leaders, it should be done in love.
There will be different activities such as jingles, rallies and carnivals, they can be carried out with love and there should definitely be no crisis,” she said.
The 300 level student of English Language at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, advised young children not to visit unfamiliar places to avoid abduction.
“Do not go out with strangers, tell families of your location and most of all be prayerful because God is the absolute protector.”
