Liverpool Manager, Jürgen Klopp and his Manchester United counterpart, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, have given reasons why they suffered embarrassing defeat last weekend in the EPL.
While Man U lost 6-1 at home to Tottenham, defending champions, Liverpool in a game that defiled all logics fell 7-2 away to Aston Villa that narrowly survived relegation on the last day last term.
Klopp who was literally short of words after the defeat said… “We made too many mistakes and massive ones obviously. It started with the first goal and around the goals we made massive mistakes.”
Just like Klopp, Solskjaer told BBC Sports that his players made terrible mistakes, even as he added that Sunday was his worst day as the club’s manager.
In his words:”Sometimes you make mistakes, that’s part of life and we made too many mistakes in one game of football and that shows in the result. We have contributed a lot to our own downfall. It is the worst day of my career as Manchester United manager.”

The loss to Tottenham leaves Solskjaer’s side in 16th place on the EPL table, a position which the players know their fans are not happy with.
Striker Marcus Rashford in a tweet pleaded with the fans to forgive him and his team mates for their shambolic performance.
“I m proud to wear this shirt but there are no excuses, it’s just not good enough and to every single fan around the world that tuned in today (Sunday), I’m just so sorry.
“You deserve so much better than that,” Rashford stated.
Just like Rashford, Luke Shaw, who was booked in the closing stages for an absurdly late challenge on Lucas Moura, admitted that the team’s performance was nothing but a disaster.
“Manchester United shouldn’t lose in this manner,” he told Sky Sports.
“It really hurts, it’s embarrassing and we’ve let a lot of people down. We’ve let ourselves down and the staff down. It’s embarrassing. I was embarrassed on the pitch. We need a long hard look at ourselves.”
Both Liverpool and Man U would have to wait until October 17 after the international break to redeem their images. While Liverpool would visit red hot Everton in a Merseyside derby, Man U would be at Newcastle. Newcastle last weekend secured a 3-1 home against Burnley, a clear warning to Solskjaer and his men that they could be in for more trouble.
