Epe LG earmarks N6.25m bursary allowance for students

Mr Adedoyin Adesanya, Chairman, Epe Local Government, says his administration has concluded plans to give N6.25 million as bursary allowance to 250 students in the community.

Adesanya made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Epe on Wednesday.

He said that the bursary would be given to indigenes of Epe in tertiary institutions across the country.

According to him, the sum of N25,000 will be given to each student and the council plans to give the bursary allowance to only 250 students.

‘’This development is to support the students in their studies and also their allowances as indigenes of Lagos State.

‘’It is also to encourage them to focus on their academic pursuit,’’ Adesanya said.

The chairman said that the bursary form would be available online via the local government website for the students to fill.

‘’It is e-bursary; the form will be made available online and will be filled and submitted online.

‘’Note, the bursary is for students from Epe community, that are in higher institutions,’’ he said.

Adesanya said that the electronic (online) filling of forms was introduced to discourage students from traveling from far and wide to the local government to fill the hard copy of the form.

‘’Rather, they fill and submit online, so that they can concentrate on their studies in schools,’’ he said.

Adesanya said that the form would be made available online by September and the money would be disbursed immediately after the students fulfilled the necessary requirements for their claims/identification. (NAN)
