The commissioner said the ministry would not hesitate to embark on procuring fertiliser that would go round to all the farmers in the state.

According to him, this will be evenly distributed across the 17 local government areas of the state to encourage farmers and to boost food production.

“The Ministry of Agriculture has been directed by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to ensure that the fertiliser are available to all our farmers at a subsidized rate before April ending.

“This is to enable our farmers confront the issue of massive food production aggressively with all manner of seriousness,” he said

Edeh said arrangement has been made to ensure sincere and timely distribution of the fertiliser immediately they were supplied to the ministry, adding that government would not spare anybody found sabotaging the process.

He explained that it is the ministry’s belief that when the plans were efficiently implemented, the state would witness massive food production in this year’s harvest. (NAN)
