#EndSARS protests: Gov. Uzodimma relaxes 24-hr curfew in Imo

Governor Hope Uzoimma of Imo State has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state to bring the #EndSARS protesters to control.

Governor Uzodimma, in a live radio broadcast to the people of the state, said that the curfew would henceforth begin from 6pm till 6am every day.

He used the broadcast to announce the setting aside of N2 billion for special youths empowerment programme in the state.

He also said that the first, second and third batches of youths would be trained in various vocational skills assuring that funds would be made available for the take off of their skills.

He commended the #EndSARS protesters in the state, while regretting the carnage, looting as well as burning of houses, police stations and other infrastructure in the state by those who claimed to be members of #EndSARS protesters.

The governor insisted those who engaged in destruction and looting in the state are not indigenes of the state but hired from outside by people with destructive tendencies.

He assured that those behind such act against the state must be fished out as the security agencies has been directed to do the needful to ensure they are brought to book.
