The campaign council of Sir Frank Ibezim, flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming senatorial by-election in Imo North, has applauded Nigerian youths for championing a new course for the country.

In a statement by  Hon. Irouno Chukwunonye, its Director of Media and Publicity, the Council lauded the youths for their “exceptional gallantry at midwifing and prosecuting in a most eloquent manner, an expression of your genuine desire to resiliently trigger Nigeria’s first ever  reformative paradigm shift, using the #ENDSARS protests.”

According to the statement, “It is our firm belief that this ingeniously conceived movement, tactfully designed to be peaceful, largely achieved undeniable national resonance towards its fundamental objectives notwithstanding the condemnable last minute external invasion that led to the death of innocent protesters and other monumental wastages ushered in by brigands, hoodlums, marauders and vandals within us.”

It prayed for the repose of the souls of those that died in the course of the protests and consolation for the bereaved families as well as others hugely affected negatively by various forms of attacks.

“A clinical dissection of the #ENDSARS protests will reveal the burning desire to comprehensively overhaul the institutions of democratic governance and enthrone a sane Nigeria where affordable healthcare, gainful employment, equality in citizenship, regular power supply, robust economy, rule of law, standard skills impacting  education system, security of life and property and universal wellbeing are assured,” it further said.

Addressing Imo North youths in particular, the statement noted, “Sir Frank Ibezim, who himself is a youth of extreme simplicity, productive humility, progressive synergy and proven integrity, has proactively tailored his people-centered and evidence-based manifesto for the youth, women and people of Imo North Senatorial District to reflect the above principles.”

The Council highlighted some practical strategic steps Ibezim had already initiated towards realising the laudable goals, especially in the much desired agriculture-driven industrial revolution with the youth in focus, such as a rice bed, sitting on over 200 hectares of land at Onicha Uboma  in Ihitte Uboma LGA, a solar-powered panel with commendable megawatts that would illuminate the rice bed environment and surrounding communities, a database of graduate youths for training and employment into the Nigeria Open University at Ehime Mbano LGA billed for takeoff next year, a technical survey for the capture of rural communities by the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria  for inclusion into the ongoing 2021 appropriation budget, skills acquisition trainings in the six LGAs of the zone, etc., stating its readiness to conduct the youths of the mentioned facilities for verification before the senatorial by-election and  demonstrate Ibezim’s upfront  responsiveness to the individual yearnings and cumulative aspirations of the youth, which their votes will only consolidate.

The statement added, “As  we implore our youths to earnestly consider themselves victorious in the current struggle, the golden opportunities which government at all levels offer you, in line with your significant demands should be effectively maximised through a roundtable memorandum of understanding.

“As a youth, who will be entering the Senate Chamber with the freshness of these #ENDSARS protests, Sir Frank Ibezim has promised to maximise the synergy of his relationship with his fellow senators of the ruling APC, the Presidency and government of Imo State, to legislatively ensure that these greatly justified expectations of the  youth and our people in general, which precipitated the #ENDSARS protests are not downplayed at all.”
