A pro-democracy and human right organisation, the Progressive Volunteers (PV), has described as unfounded, false and spurious; an allegation of violence levelled against an aide of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Nigeria, lamenting that, “the unfounded allegation was a calculated attempt at discrediting the good work of the governor and his team of competent hands.”
At a press conference on Monday, a rights activist and Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC), Comrade Kunle Ajayi, was reported to have said that, “the hoodlums’ attack during the #EndSARS protests were led by an aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, also known as Zulu Authority.”
Ajayi, also alleged that, Adeboye was not alone in the attack, saying, he led the attack as controller of a network of thugs that included Nelson Ekujimi, Gbenga Soloki, Rasaq Olokooba, Debo Adeniran.
In his reaction, the Progressive Volunteers’ Convener, Comrade Soyoye Ekundayo, said what made the allegation funny and baseless was the names of the personalities he labelled as hoodlums, saying, they are a set of credible recognised as fighters for the good of the people of Lagos in particular and the whole country as a whole.
According to him, it was disheartening to realise that, some people, who should encourage governor Sanwo-Olu to spread more democracy dividends across the state are the same people planning to derail his government via spurious allegations against his credible aides as well as against renowned right crusaders, whose efforts, according Soyoye fought for the return of democracy to Nigeria.
Against this backdrop, the PV boss, tended to suspect that, Ajayi and his AAC are being sponsored to rubbish the good work of the government in place with unfounded allegations against his aides and against those who are still fighting for sustenance of good governance in the state, vowing that, “at the fullness of time, the sponsors and pay masters of associations with dirty mind would be unveiled and exposed to the public.
Soyoye said, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, whose name was mentioned and linked to the attack, is a known political analyst and pro-democracy activist, who has been busy to ensure that governments and those in the authorities provide the citizenry with good governance, reminding that he is the National President and Convener of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), an organisation that has over 70 other rights organizations under its umbrella.
As for Comrade Debo Adeniran, the PV leader said he is a personality that need no introduction as a die-hard fighter against corruption through his Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOOL), wondering how that Senior Citizen could descend so low to become a street fighter!
Speaking about the governor’s aide labelled as Chief Thug, Soyoye said, “I am sure the man with intimidating credential and experienced public figure would just laugh off the accusation an ignore it as rotten apples only good to be thrown away,” saying, “his daily schedule is so busy that, listening to such rubbish could detract him.”

Giving a brief insight into the credential of the trained finance expert and an experienced banker, Soyoye said his good nature and acceptability across board has earned him several chiftaincy tittles, adding that, the exploits of the football and sports enthusiast has made him the darling of the youth.
“Chief Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka (a.k.a Zulu Authority), a native of Oro town in Kwara State born into the family of the famous Oni Arokola Millions is the Special Assistant to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Sports.
“He studied Banking and Finance at the Kwara State Polytechnic. He has worked with Afribank PLC. After his incursion into politics, he has served as Deputy KAI Marshall and Provost Marshall under former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu and later under the administration of Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN). And presently, he is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Sports and doubles as a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Facility Committee. Finally, he is also Director General (DG) Team Lagos and President, Smart City Football Club,” Soyoye exposed.
Concluding, the group leader express the need for the people to ignore ranting of undesirable elements in the society and support the administration of Sanwo-Olu to focus on the onerous task of the state building he was given the 2019 mandate to focus on.
