Emefiele:  DSS widens dragnet, arrests CBN Deputy Gov Kingsley Obiora 

Central Bank of Nigeria’s deputy governor, incharge of economic policy, Kingsley Obiora, have been arrested by Department of State Security,  DSS, as the security agency widens its investigation into the  activities of the former governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, who is now in DSS’s custody, while in office,

Obiora is reported to have  now spent four nights in custody under questioning by the security service,

A source familiar with Mr Obiora’s arrest said he was being targeted as a principal witness against his boss.

Obiora was a policy chief at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and advised former Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. He was also an Adviser to  Emefiele until March 2, 2020, when he was confirmed to his current position as one of CBN’s four deputy governors.
