Elections: FEC backs Buhari on shoot-at-sight order – Minister

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has thrown its weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari on the directives to security agencies to be ruthless with ballot box snatchers in the coming elections.

The support for the President’s order to security agencies made known to State House correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting presided over by President Buhari, on Wednesday.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, while briefing newsmen said, “I mean if you want to intimidate voters to steal the mandate of the people, you should be able to face the wrath of the law.”

The minister also disclosed that the Federal Government, on Tuesday, commenced payment of salaries to workers to enable those that want to travel to their polling units to vote, do so with ease.
