Ekiti agog for festival of Arts and Culture

Ekiti State is currently in festive mood ahead of the forthcoming festival of Arts and Culture, which holds from December 11 to 13, 2019.

The event is expected to showcase, promote and celebrate the state’s rich cultural heritage.

This year’s Ekifest was organised as a result of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s quest for a redefined and value restoration through arts and culture in the state.

It is also targeted at promoting arts and culture in its entirety.

The three-day event is scheduled to hold in three venues of Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort, Ikogosi-Ekiti and Adetiloye Hall, in Ado-Ekiti.

The organising council, as part of activities lined up for the three-day event, is showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage, with the them, ‘Arts and Culture, Tool For Restoration of Values And Socio-economic Empowerment’.

In his address, the Director- General of Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Amb. Wale-Ojo Lanre, poured encomiums on the Governor Fayemi-led administration for its contributions towards ensuring values restoration through arts and culture.

The Director-General, urged all and sundry from across the country and globe, irrespective of tribe, colour or race to be a part of this year’s celebrations, adding that it is one of the major ways to sustain the state’s cultural heritage.
