EFCC arrests ex-Reps Speaker, Patricia Etteh for alleged fraud

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Etteh, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

She was arrested on Tuesday May 17, by the anti-graft agency in Abuja for questioning.

The former federal lawmaker was arrested over allegation of fraud involving a Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) contract.

Hon. Etteh, who remains the only female occupier of the fourth highest seat in the land, was elected Speaker in 2007 but resigned only after a few months amid allegations of financial misappropriation.
