Ebonyi govt. to engage 200 entrepreneurs in ‘Stimulus Development Project’ – Commissioner

No fewer than 200 persons resident in Ebonyi State would benefit from the State Empowerment Initiative scheme tagged Stimulus Development Project (EB-SDP) designed to empower professionals, entrepreneurs and retirees at all levels in the state.

Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Barr.  Uchenna Orji, made the disclosure, in Abakaliki, the State capital, on Tuesday, while briefing newsmen on the initiatives and other policies of the Government geared towards improving the living standards of the people.

The project to be implemented in partnership with a Consultancy Firm named Park Hill Consult, would enhance the Human Capital Index of the State in addition to ensuring the self reliant of the trainees.

According to the Commissioner, the Consultant is saddled with the responsibility of identifying persons in the fields of Engineering and Technology, Medicine, Teachers in Science and English language, ICT, Business persons, professionals as well as retirees with business acumen who are interested in the o.

He opined that, “Interested applicants  are meant to apply through a comprehensive online application mechanism, Websites, Twitters, Instagrams, facebook to be accessed all over the world provided such applicant are willing to have their business locations located in Ebonyi State.

“Those in entrepreneurship and professional services shall be trained in the area of Business Management and Marketing strategies, professional enhancement, ICT as soon as they are shortlisted.”

The Consultant reiterated, “The Consultant shall source funds for the successful participants, while Ebonyi State Government shall provide the enabling environment, security, this is the first of its kind in Human Capital Development Initiative that will benefit the entire state”.

Earlier in his contribution, the Project Consultant, Chief Chima  Onyekwere, stated that Park Hill Consult would provide the required framework for the actualisation of the empowerment scheme stressing that the trainees were expected to come up with viable business proposals that would propel them to become self sufficient.
