A former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki will, on Monday, February 20, in Kano State, speak on challenges facing the North in the fight against drug abuse at the Seventh Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association (NBMOA).
At the event, with the theme: ‘Clear Danger: Drug Abuse in the North and the Role of the Northern Media in Combating the Scourge’, the 2023 presidential aspirant will present a paper on some of the major challenges confronting the North and proffer solutions.
His presentation will be followed by a question and answer session, and contributions from major stakeholders.

According to the organisers, discussion at the event will ‘constitute some of the resolutions of the AGM.’
Other event highlights for the three-day AGM include the award of the NBMOA Media Friendly Governor of the Year, posthumous awards of Recognition to, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sa’adu Zungur and Abubakar Imam.
There will also be other awards of recognition to select members of the association for their pioneering roles in the industry, as well as a gala/cultural night.
