The police in Katsina State has arrested the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in Mashi area of the state, SP. Garba Talawai, and his girlfriend, Sadiya Danyaya, over the death of a 16-year-old housemaid, Rabi Abdullahi.
In a statement released by the state’s PPRO, SP. Gambo Isa, last weekend, he noted that one Abubakar Haruna, a Councillor in Mashi Local Government Area, had reported to the DPO about a corpse dumped at the bush in Mashi.
The DPO, it was said, went with his men to evacuate the corpse to the Primary Health Center, Mashi.

In apparent twist of the case, some health workers on duty, alleged that the DPO had brought the corpse earlier, along with another unidentified policeman, inside the DPO’s Toyota car.
The deceased, the statement revealed, turned out to be a housemaid to the DPO’s girlfriend, Sadiya.
Sadiya, in her statement, said she told the Talawai that the deceased had not been seen since Wednesday, last week, after she rebuked her for reportedly carrying an unwanted pregnancy.
The state’s police boss maintained that the DPO had questions to answer in the matter.
