A new murder document has revealed American rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs popularly known as Puff Diddy allegedly paid $1million to an assassin to get Tupar Shakur killed.
According to the police, Dididy’s name appeared 77 times in the document as the alleged mastermind of the attack.
The documents stem from a case against Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 61, who is accused of planning the 1996 drive-by shooting that took the life of Shakur in Las Vegas.
Davis, who is currently in jail, had previously claimed that Diddy gave $1million to an individual to kill Shakur but the police are yet to charge Diddy as a suspect.
Back in 2009, Davis, who was accused of masterminding the drive-by shooting of Shakur, had an interview with the Las Vegas police.
In the interview, Davis had suggested that Diddy paid a high-level drug dealer, Eric Von Martin, to assassinate Shakur.
Davis was arrested in September 2023 on a charge of first-degree murder but recently filed for bail which the prosecution countered on the ground that he had earlier mentioned Diddy as having played a role in the murder of Shakur.
Shockingly, according to the Daily Mail, the documents that were filed named Diddy 77 times, most likely from Davis’ continued claims that Diddy also had something to do with the murder of the late rapper.
Davis mentioning Diddy’s name is said to be the major stumbling block to getting bail, as the prosecutors argued in their filing that he should be kept in jail because he previously implicated Diddy.
The new 180-page documents, revealed that Diddy allegedly offered to pay for the shooting to get back at then-record executive turned convict Marion Suge Knight who was also in the car with Shakur when the drive-by occurred.
In 2009, the police had asked Davis if Diddy played a role in ‘this thing’ to which he had replied “Yeah, I think he did.”
Davis also claimed that Diddy said he “would give anything” for Suge Knight’s “head” because he was “scared” of him.
