Diya condoles Nigerians on Shagari’s death

A former Chief of General Staff, Lt.Gen. Oladipo Diya (rtd), has condoled with Nigerians over the death of  the country’s First Executive President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, who died at the age of 93 and had since been buried.

Describing him as a ‘perfect man’ of love, peace, passion and ultimate concern for the plight of others, Gen. Diya  urged those at the helms of affairs today to emulate Shagari’s humility and sacrifice with a view to moving the nation forward.

The former number two man also said the late Shagari’s zeal, appetite for goal and sense of nationalism when he led Nigeria placed the country on global map  was memorable and served to be emulated by the current crops of leaders in Nigeria.

While condoling President Muhammadu Buhari  and Nigerians on the death of the former country’s president, Gen. DIya said: “The good that men do lives not only after their death, but  even before such as great testimonial of the inestimable blueprint at all times.’’
