Discos assure consumers of stable power supply

Two of the nation’s power distribution companies, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company and Eko Electricity Distribution Company, have assured customers of stable supply during this festive season.

The Discos gave the assurance on Thursday in separate statements made available to our correspondent.

EKEDC’s General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr Godwin Idemudia, said the company remained committed to ensuring that its customers enjoy steady supply of electricity during the festive season and beyond.

He said, “We understand that there will be greater demand on supply during this season and we are committed to meeting the demands of our customers during this time.

“Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, we urge our customers to avoid large gatherings and crowded places during the celebrations and wear their masks if they need to go out.

“Our digital and electronic platforms will also be available for customer complaints, escalation and resolution.”

The management of IBEDC assured customers across its network of its commitment to ensure hitch-free services during the Christmas holiday.

The Chief Operating Officer, IBEDC, Mr John Ayodele, said measures had been put in place to ensure network stability and smooth operations during the holidays.

“In anticipation of customers’ expectations during the holidays, we are fully equipped to ensure faults are cleared as fast as possible across our franchise to avoid unnecessary disruption of power supply,” he said.

He said although 2020 had been a year plagued by many challenges, the company still demonstrated its commitment to excellent service delivery by creating more customer care units across its franchise for quicker resolutions of complaints and faults, upgraded and installed some major electrical infrastructure.

“We also introduced innovative ICT-driven initiatives and policies to promote real-time reading of our meters, distribution of bills and generally ensure more efficient business operations.”
