Defected Imo PDP lawmakers to face recall

The 15 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Imo State House of Assembly are to face recall for defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
 The party insisted that it would invoke relevant laws to ensure that the lawmakers lose their seats.

PDP legal Adviser, Barr. Gerry Egemba told journalists, in Owerri.
He described the action of the lawmakers as unlawful and embarrassing, adding that the party is prepared to correct the anomaly.
He said: “the defectors had no legal justification to leave the party, except for their personal interests”.
The PDP chieftain said that the law is on the party’s side to bring the concerned lawmakers to face the consequence of their action.
He said, “If through the platform of a party, you got into the House, you cannot just leave without clearing with the party and without considering the consequences. You can’t defect if there is no crisis in the party”.
On if the party was making effort to either sponsor their recall or declare their seats vacant, he said that the party is already looking at various options adding that by the time they are through, they will come out with a position.
It could be recalled that at house of Assembly plenery session, 8 PDP lawmakers including the Speaker, Chiji Collins and the Majority Leader, Chigozie Nwaneri jumped the party to APC. 
The recent development has made APC the majority in the House with 18 members, while PDP and AA has 7 members and 1 member respectfully
