CPP reveal plans by APC to rig 2023 election

The Coalition of United Political Parties says it has uncovered plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the 2023 general elections.

While addressing the press in Imo State in a viral video made available to The Nigerian Xpress newspaper, the coalition said after painstaking efforts,  it was able to lay its hands on documents four months ago backing its claims that the APC has an agenda to rig the elections.

The documents, it said, detailed how the APC plans to upload fake registration data on the database of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and plans to sack the chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakoub.

“Four months ago, we intercepted a document about the grand plan by APC to compromise 2023 elections and deny Nigerians their sovereign right to freely choose their leaders.

“The documents were shared to APC governors to play their role in the plan,. The machines were to be located in all APC controlled 22 states.

“During the last voter registration exercise, some of the APC states conducted their own registration exercise using hundreds of computer generated photos. They went as far as using foreign faces and names and uploaded them on the INEC database.

“They had trained personnel who used one fingerprint to register thousands of persons. Photos were taken from the internet with fake names and uploaded on INEC database,” the coalition alleged.

The coalition expressed surprise at how the ruling party was able to access the INEC database to upload the alleged fake names.

It continued, “Who generated those fake names  and uploaded them to the INEC database? How did APC get access to the INEC machine with which they committed these heinous crimes?

“If people can upload fake names on the INEc database, it means they can. also upload fake numbers,” it says.

Another plan, the coalition alleged, is the proposed sack of the INEC chairman by the ruling party.

“Their last leg in their plan is to sack the chairman of INEC  through court if the man insists on continuing as an unbiased umpire.”

It, therefore, called on Nigerians to rise against the alleged plans. It also called on INEC to assure Nigerians of it’s determination to conduct a free and fair election.

“The 2023 elections are the last chance to protect our democracy. We therefore called on the civil society groups, election observers and the media to stand up and defend Nigeria democracy.

“We call on INEC  to assure Nigerians that the election has not been determined and restore the confidence of Nigerians in the electoral process. The commission must arrest its personnel who released  the passcode.”
