COVID- 19: Kwara Govt. orders total lockdown

The Unpalatable circumstances surrounding admission in the hospital and subsequent death of the Kwara State COVID-19 index case is now taking toll on the people of the State. 

The government, at a press conference addressed by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi Wednesday announced a total lockdown of the entire 16 Local  Governments in the State. 

The Lockdown order, according to the Deputy Governor, bans all vehicular movements, including private vehicles, and all manner of shops and markets must shut down except foodstuff sellers and operators of medicine shops are allowed to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays respectively  between 10 am and 2pm.

The Number 2 citizen who is also Chairman, Kwara state Technical Committee on COVID-19 expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by the people of Offa on the earlier lockdown order placed on the town since Tuesday.

Alabi thanked the Federal Government for its support to his committee and urged Kwarans not to panic, but to strictly adhere to all the safety measures on COVID-19 dished out media channels by government and relevant agencies.
