He said members of the vigilante group have reported the movement of some people from Nasarawa State into Benue in a bus and assured that the committee would take steps towards moving those people back to Nasarawa where they came from.

Ongbabo urged the people of the state to continue to be vigilant,  stressing that any one that conceals a suspected case of COVID-19 would-be seen to be doing the entire state a disservice.

On the distribution of face masks, the commissioner appealed to the people to be patient as arrangements were on top gear.

He commended Benue people for their cooperation so far and appealed to them to continue to observe the rules of social distancing,  regular washing of hands, use of sanitizer and face masks.

It would e recalled that earlier in the year,  an index case of COVID 19 in Benue was isolated and tested.

When the result turned out to be positive,  the patient requested that she should be transferred to Abuja after insisting that she was not sick.

Since then, the NCDC took responsibility of her treatment and further tests.
