COVID-19: Amaechi greets Rivers people, urges moderate Easter celebration

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has urged the people of Rivers State, in this Easter period, to celebrate in moderation as they strive to control the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.

In a terse message, the minister said,  “My dear Rivers people, I want to let you know that I stand with everyone working to ensure that we defeat Coronavirus.

“This deadly pandemic is real & does not discriminate.

“These difficult, challenging & anxious times will test our faith & resolve, but we must remember that in God lies the solution to all our worries.

“As we work together to beat this deadly virus, let us remain strong & resolute in our belief that God is still on the throne.

“As Christians celebrate the Crucifixion & rise of our lord Jesus Christ, with hearts filled with love, peace, humility & forgiveness; no matter the challenges of today, in the spirit of Easter, I appeal that we make the necessary sacrifices that will keep us safe & secure our tomorrow.
