The man arrested for slapping President Emmanuel Macron has been slammed with a three-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 1,500 Euros for assault and battery.

The light sentence followed the case presented by the Defendant’s lawyers who were able to prove that President Macron breached the COVID-19 protocol by not only coming within less-thanone-metre distance of the assaulter, but also shook his hand, which is also against the COVID-19 public protocol.
The case received accelerated hearing on court.
