Corps member kidnapped in Jos, as abductors demand N5m ransom

Authorities of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Plateau State,  have confirmed the abduction of a serving member of the corps.

Spokesperson of the NYSC in the state, Jennifer Laha, told journalists, in Jos, via telephone, on Monday evening.

The victim, Miss Igwebuike Amilia Nkechi, with Registration Number PL/19B/1423, was abducted from her home, in Jos, in early hours of  Monday.

It was gathered  that the victim was attached to Jos North Local Government Secretariat for her primary assignment.

She was said to have been abducted at her residence near AA Garden, on Rukuba Road, in Jos North Local Government Area.

Police confirmed the incident through the state command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Terna Tyopev. He said efforts were on to rescue the victim.

It was learnt that the suspected abductors of the victim had contacted her relations, and  were demanding N5 million as ransom.
