Hon. Lynda Chuba-Ikpeazu, incumbent House of Representatives member representing Onitsha North\South in the House of Representatives, has retained her seat in the National Assembly by emerging victorious in last Saturday National Assembly elections. Hon. Chuba-Ikpeazu of the PDP beat her closest rival and APGA candidate, Chief Patrick Nwachi Obianwu in the said election.

Both frontline contestants hail from Onitsha North Local Government Area, precisely from the mostly indigenous populated Inland-Town.

Lynda Chuba-Ikpeazu, a former Miss Nigeria pageant in the 1980’s and a lawyer has rarely practiced the law profession has been deeply involved in politics since the return of democracy in 1999.

The daughter of a late High Court Judge and former Chairman of the defunct Nigeria Football Association (NFA), the late Justice Chuba-Ikpeazu has had her life rotating around politics for nearly two decades now. She is largely described as an achiever and political motivator in her constituency, Onitsha North and South having attracted more than twenty road projects which have been initiated in her constituency among various projects and other empowerment programmes. These were said to have endeared the lawmaker to her constituents.

Meanwhile, in a surprising development, a market leader and President –General, Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (AMATAS), Chief Okwudili Nwankwo has also emerged winner of last Saturday House of Representatives election for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency.
