Canadian govt begins probe of Nigerian woman’s threat to poison Nigerians in Canada

The Canadian government has launched an investigation into the threat issued by a Nigerian woman residing in Canada threatening to poison Nigerians of Yoruba and Benin descent in Canada.

Amaka Sunnberger’s threat had sparked outrage with many people calling on the Canadian government to investigate her.

The Nigerian House of Representatives, along with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), had also formally petitioned the Canadian authorities.

According to the Toronto Police Service, the government has now begun an investigation into the matter.

Sergeant Bassey Osagie, a representative of the Toronto Police Service, confirmed that the matter is being taken seriously. “This incident has been reported to the Toronto Police Service and is currently under investigation,” Osagie said.
