CAF group stage best 11 nomination excites Rangers’ goalkeeper

Rangers International FC of Enugu’s Ghanaian-born shot stopper, Nana Bonsu, says he feels fulfilled being named among the best 11 in the Total/Confederation Cup group stage.

Bonsu was named the best goalkeeper for the just-concluded Total/Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup group stage by journalists that covered the competition.
Speaking to newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday, he expressed profound gratitude to his team mates, coaches, management and supporters of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ for giving him the opportunity to serve.

The former Ghana junior international said: “I am very proud to be selected, following my performance for Rangers in the group stage.
“However, it would have been much sweeter if my performance had led us to the later stages of the competition.
“I thank all those that gave us the support, which was very instrumental to Rangers’ performance in the competition.”
Bonsu, who kept four clean sheets, made several breath-taking saves, while Rangers lasted in the competition.
It would be recalled that Bonsu’ heroics between the sticks helped the seven-time Nigeria league champions win the 2016 NPFL and 2018 Aiteo cup.
The indefatigable goal tender also maintained an enviable record in his home town club, Asanti Gold F.C. (NAN)
