Frontline business woman, Bunmi Obakoya has emerged as African International Women Pacesetters, AFRIWP Woman of the Year.
The star-studded event that took place at LCCI Centre, Alausa, had the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu who was ably represented by a high-ranking officer, Nollywood actress, and Nigerian radio presenter, Omotunde Adebowale David, popularly known as Lolo1 and others in attendance.
The organizer of the award stated that the reason for the award is to honour outstanding African Women making the Black Continent proud from all over the world.
Speaking on the award which she dedicated to Women in the whole world, Obakoya disclosed that the contribution of women to nation building cannot be over-emphasized.
She thanked the organizers of the award which she pointed out will spur her on to do more than she is already doing
“I will continue to support women and humanity because women are champions; I believe that women have a great role to play in the building of our nation and deserve all the support that they can get. Remember the saying that if you educate a woman, you build a nation. I thank the organizers of this award ceremony, I did not know them until I got an SMS that I had been nominated and eventually, I won. This award will galvanize me to even do more” she said.
