Buhari meets security chiefs behind closed doors

Ahead of the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections on Saturday, President Muhamamdu Buhari and security chiefs are currently meeting at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

The meeting which started by 11:00 am, according to presidential sources is convened to review the country’s security situation.

The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan- Ali, Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahaman Dambazau (etc)  are in attendance.

Also in attendance are the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique who arrived the presidential villa, Abuja, around 10:50am.

The Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and the  Director General of Department for State Service (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, are also in attendance.

The security chiefs last met on February 19th, five days before the presidential and National Assembly, where Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had reiterated the President’s directives that those involved ballot box snatching and electoral misconducts will have themselves to blame.
